There is an ancient Greek fable called "the hedgehog and the fox" : the fox knows many things, the hedgehog only knows one big thing. The battle between the hedgehog and the fox takes place every day in some form, though the fox is cleverer than the hedgehog, and it is always the hedgehog who wins.
Princeton university professor Marvin bresler points out the power of hedgehogs: "you want to know what separates people who make a big difference from other people who are just as smart as them? It's a hedgehog."
The fox pursues many goals at the same time and sees the world as a complex whole. The fox's mind is "messy or diffuse, developing on many levels," never concentrating its thoughts into a general theory or unified view.
Hedgehogs, on the other hand, reduce the complex world to a single organized point of view, a basic principle or a basic idea, to serve as commander in chief and guide.
Jiangsu qi ji's "hedgehog concept" is not a goal to be the best, a strategy to be the best, an intention to be the best or a plan to be the best, but an understanding of where you can be the best.
Each member of jiangsu qi ji team is a "happy, full of wisdom and courage, the courage to explore the hedgehog", happy and positive, simple goal, forward.
